Raymond Loewy--birthday

Some of us have no idea who Raymond Loewy was. Best said... industrial designer and probably best known for his design of the streamlined GG1 of the Pennsylvania Railroad. My youth longed for the model train engine but, alas, we had A. C. Gilbert's American Flyer line and they never offered the engine. Lionel did but Lionel trains were expensive and took up a lot of space. Nevertheless, the Penn RR GG1 was a cool streamlined engine and quite popular. It was the lead engine for the Broadway Limited run from New York to Chicago.

Google paid tribute to him today...
