The Internet chalkboard needs help
Recently in American Scientist author Brian Hayes discusses a serious and current problem involving the display of scientific symbolic nomenclature on the Internet. Look at a web page and lots of things are happening and visually obvious: Type font and size, still photographs, film clips, animated graphics, internal search engines, etc. Web designs are easy until you start to work with scientific notation--formulas and operations. Try going to a chat room and doing math.
