It doesn't always work, but it is the best we have.<br /><br />Crimes of unusual cruelty or violence towards animals and children are emotionally packed. When we serve on juries, we are so emotionally attached to the particular case we've been listening to for the previous 7 or 8 days that objectivity in sentencing can get thrown out the window. I found the survey thought-provoking and felt that it really enconpassed all areas of crime.
